The Altai Mountain Forests, Grasslands & Desert Steppe bioregion is located in the Central Eurasia realm (central Palearctic) and contains four ecoregions – Altai Montane Forest and Forest Steppe (690), Altai Steppe and Semi-Desert (724), Emin Valley Steppe (729), Altai Alpine Meadow and Tundra (749) – totaling more than 47 million hectares of land area.
