A Colombian conservation biologist researching on ecology and management of aquatic fauna (mostly aquatic mammals) in America and the Caribbean. Her main interests are to apply traditional and science-based knowledge to resolve conservation issues; particularly related to the preservation of endangered aquatic species and their habitats. Co-chairperson of the Sirenian Specialist Group and Co-founder of FINS Conservation. Laboratory of Aquatic Mammals, El Colegio de la Frontera Sur (ECOSUR)
