Teo Grossman

Teo is the Senior Director of Programs, where he leads and integrates a growing ecosystem of programs and initiatives connecting science, culture, and capital.

Teo comes to One Earth after more than two decades in the environmental movement, most recently as President of Bioneers, the pioneering environmental and social justice organization. During nearly ten years in Bioneers' executive leadership, he led its shift into a full-fledged media enterprise, rebuilt its marketing and events strategy to relaunch and sell out its 3,000-person annual conference and oversaw the growth of numerous innovative programs and partnerships. He was a lead producer of the annual Bioneers Conference, identifying the ideas and leaders shaping global social and environmental movements. His diverse career has also included biodiversity research, federal rangeland management and a stint as a high school teacher in a rural island community.

He holds an MS in Environmental Science & Management from the Bren School at UC Santa Barbara where he was a Doris Duke Conservation Fellow, investigating the economics of ecosystem-based approaches to climate adaptation with international NGO partners. Teo has written extensively on topics from nature-based solutions and energy transition to independent media and climate governance. Born and raised in Northern New Mexico, he grew up hiking and fishing in the Sangre de Cristo range and now lives in Boulder, Colorado with his family.
