The Sayan Mountain Conifer Forests, Alpine Meadows & Steppe bioregion is located in the Eastern Eurasia realm (eastern Palearctic) and contains three ecoregions – Sayan Montane Conifer Forests (707), Sayan Intermontane Steppe (736), Sayan Alpine Meadows and Tundra (764) – totaling more than 47 million hectares of land area. 

The Sayan Mountain Conifer Forests, Alpine Meadows & Steppe bioregion is part of the Altai-Sayan Mountains subrealm and is made up of three ecoregions: (1) Sayan Montane Conifer Forests (2) Sayan Intermontane Steppe (3) Sayan Alpine Meadows and Tundra.
