Land Protected Areas
Solution Pathway
Land Protected Areas are terrestrial wildlands already protected or recognized by governments. This includes all IUCN-protected area classes and Other Effective Conservation Measures (OECMs) as defined by the World Conservation Monitoring Centre (WCMC). Land Protected Areas make up Layer 1 of the Global Safety Net (GSN).
